A serious runway near-collision incident occurred at Boston Logan International Airport on June 20th, drawing close attention from global aviation authorities.

A Delta Air Lines Airbus A319 was on final approach for landing when an American Airlines Boeing 737-800 taxied onto the intersecting runway and initiated takeoff without proper clearance. To avoid a catastrophic collision, the flight crew of the Delta jet immediately executed a missed approach and climbed away urgently.

All 129 passengers and crew members on board both aircraft remained safe throughout the whole incident.

Both the FAA (Federal Aviation Administration) and NTSB (National Transportation Safety Board) have officially launched full investigations into this runway incursion accident. The U.S. Senate also held a special hearing on June 23rd, taking this severe near miss as a key case to discuss global runway safety risks and optimize airport ground operation procedures.
